FIELD NOTES / 04

A pause can change
what happens next.

A small field guide for everyday information decisions. These introductory notes are educational prompts, not an automated fact-checking service.

THE VERIFICATION LOOP

Before you share, ask.

01

Who is making the claim?

Look for a named author, publication date and a traceable original source. A familiar visual style is not evidence of authenticity.

02

What is the actual evidence?

Separate the headline from the underlying material. Check whether a quotation, image or statistic supports the conclusion being drawn.

03

What context might be missing?

Check time, place and the scope of the claim. Genuine content can be misleading when removed from its original context.

04

What do independent sources say?

Look for corroboration from sources that do not all repeat the same unverified origin. Agreement alone is not independent verification.

05

What remains uncertain?

State what you know, what you do not know and what would change your assessment. If the evidence is weak, pause before sharing.

PROJECT MATERIALS

The curriculum is evolving.

Existing training and concept materials are being reviewed for the startup pilot. Public learning resources will be added once the relevant content, rights and delivery format are ready.
